Welcome to The Victorian Muse
Hello and Welcome to The Victorian Muse website. My name is Patricia the owner and creator behind The Victorian Muse, Salvage Revival Designs. Here I provide eco-chic and eco-friendly timeless treasures that have long been forgotten and neglected. These treasures have been salvaged and revived to live on bringing joy and beauty to your home styling and decor. Each piece I redesign or create is unique in itself, meaning I only create one. There are no two alike. (Rarely, unless they happened to be a pair) I use salvaged & upcycled materials (in most of my work), along with environmentally safe finishes. All my finishes and techniques are custom to me. I gather my inspiration from my favorite time period, The Victorian Era. I love the romantic overtures of this period. I love the architectural grace of the structures and the craftmanship. I love that this was a period of industry, growth and innovative experiments. You will see my love for this era in my work. You will also see a bit of the steampunk industrial vibe in a few of my pieces. I also use a lot of Old-World Charm and techniques in my creating. Techniques that have been used for centuries. These are tried and true techniques that withstand the test of time. Add a splash of French Provencial and there you have me. However, I have been known to dabble around a bit. Afterall that is what art is, experimentation of your soul. I am a wife and mother of one plus four fur babies. A New Yorker all my life with the beautiful Catskill Mountains in my view, a masterful scene and being just outside of the famous Woodstock known for its abundance of art and creativity. Oh, and how can I forget the Woodstock Concert of the 60's , Woodstock is a beautiful town full of inspiration to fuel the imagination. I began my journey many years ago. Art has always been my passion through my youth into my academics and mentorships. I am continuously researching, experimenting and learning. My desire for knowledge is forever growing. I started my business over 10 years ago as CP's Shabby Chic, it then grew into Cece's & Patsy's Boutique as I have refined style, specialty finishes and discovered where my true artistic passion lies, I have relaunched & rebranded myself under a new name, hence The Victorian Muse was born. Up till now, I was hiding behind a safe veil of what I knew and was taught by my mom (Queen of upcycling in my opinion) and my mother-in-law, (generations of useful knowledge) I am now stepping out of their shadows and branching out on my own. I will always keep their wisdom and knowledge close to my heart for they are where I get my strength to venture down this artistic road. I am certified as an Art Therapy Practitioner and offer private sessions both in person or virtual. I am also an Ordained Minister and Spiritual Leader of the Universal Life Church.
